8 February, 2014 by LarsViding

Something strange happened to me in a case where I would diagnose a customer’s SharePoint Online. The client had created a new online users with global Admin rights. But this user is not rights to access SharePoint Admin Center. After I troubleshot this strange behavior. I figured out that it had to with SharePoint Online license.

Solution:
1, Provide a Global Admin user in SharePoint Online license.
2, waiting for Azure AD to be synchronized with SharePoint Online …
3, login to O365 portal and go to the SharePoint Admin Center.
4, then remove SharePoint Online license for the Global Administrator.
5, waiting for Azure AD to be synchronized with SharePoint Online …
6 and now Global Admin user go to SharePoint Admin Center without a license.

The solution in step by step.

Give the Global Admin SharePoint License

Wait for Azure AD to sync with SharePoint Online…
Then try again.

Now you can remove the license for SharePoint for a Global Administrator.

Wait for Azure AD to sync with SharePoint Online…
And try again…

Yes! Now the Global Admin user have access to SharePoint Admin center.
